Get Ahead
Get Ahead is an online resource that will support your transition to Aston by helping you:
- Find out how university differs from school or college
- Make the most of learning on campus and online
- Develop key writing and maths skills and knowledge
- Get organised for study and become independent
- Connect with others through peer mentoring
- Look after your health and wellbeing
Get Ahead is available in Blackboard Learn – Aston’s virtual learning environment. You can login using your provided Aston username and password, select "courses", then search for "Get Ahead".

Apply for your campus accommodation
Make sure you've applied for Aston accommodation if you're planning on living on campus.
There are still a few rooms available.
Prepare for uni
Complete our Get Ahead programme online
Get Ahead is our online programme that supports your transition from school or college to Aston. You can access it as soon as you receive your Aston username and password (which will be emailed to you).

Make sure you know when Arrivals Weekend, Welcome Week and the start of teaching are.
Enrolment
Enrol online and check your email
You will need to complete online enrolment before arriving at the University. We’ll contact you by email with a University username and password, and instructions about how to do this. Once you have your username and password, you can login to your Aston email.
Timetable
Login and check your timetable
Once you get your Aston username and password (by email), you can login and check your teaching timetable.
Your timetable will also include details of a key welcome talk from your programme team and several other compulsory sessions. You can access this using your Aston username and password.
