Aston University has been named the University of the Year for Student Success 2025 in the new Daily Mail University Guide.
The University beat 129 UK universities to be crowned the UK’s best for student success due to its impressive results in graduate outcomes, including high earnings, highly skilled jobs and proportion of students achieving a first or 2:1.

Aston University in the top 300 of sustainable universities worldwide as ranked 281st in the 2026 QS World University Rankings: Sustainability which assess how universities are tackling environmental, social and governance issues.
Aston University is ranked 1st in the UK for SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and in the top 300 in the World in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact rankings. This achievement on our first submission demonstrates our contribution to global sustainable development and showcases our commitment to addressing the world's most pressing challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth and partnerships.
Aston University is also ranked for these individual SDGs;
• SDG 5 (Gender Equality): 401-600 in the World, and joint 34th out of 45 ranked UK institutions.
• SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): 88th in the World, and 12th out of 51 ranked UK institutions.
• SDG 9 (Industry Innovation and Infrastructure): 401-600 in the World, and joint 19th out of 32 ranked UK institutions.

Aston University received ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ accreditations for 79% of its research in the Research Excellence Framework 2021. In addition, 74% of the University’s research has been rated “very considerable” or “outstanding” for impact, reach and significance

We are proud to have one of the most diverse student communities in the country. Aston also holds an Athena SWAN Gold Award – a reflection of the impact we have started to make towards equality for both students and staff.
In the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact rankings we are place 24th in the world for reduced inequalities (SDG10) highlighting our commitment within and across borders to promote an inclusive educational environment that supports diverse populations, including first-generation students, international students from developing countries and individuals with disabilities.
