This professionally accredited* degree prepares you for a dynamic career in a sector tackling global challenges such as clean energy, clean water and climate action. You’ll study core chemical engineering alongside chemistry, physical chemistry, mathematics and shared engineering modules, gaining the knowledge and practical skills needed for safe and efficient chemical and materials production.
At the end of your first year, you’ll choose one of two specialist pathways to tailor your learning:
- Chemical Engineering Pathway – advanced reaction engineering, separation processes and a major design project.
- Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology Pathway – advanced bioprocessing and a biotechnology‑focused major design project.
You’ll also develop highly transferable skills in problem‑solving, engineering IT and design throughout the course.
