Join our virtual CPD session, where an experienced admissions expert from Aston University will provide the latest advice and best practices for writing impactful student references.
London Teachers and Advisers Conference

We are delighted to invite teachers and advisers from our London and South-East partner schools to Aston University’s first ever London Teachers and Advisors Conference. Hosted at our London Campus (EC1A 4HD), this complimentary event offers a valuable opportunity to gain key updates and practical guidance to support your students’ progression into higher education. The programme will include sessions on Admissions Updates, Student Finance, Degree Apprenticeships, ELN support, and Work Experience.
The day will include refreshments and lunch, as well as the chance to network with colleagues and the Aston University recruitment team, strengthening links between Aston and London schools.

32nd Annual Admissions and HE Guidance Conference

Our Annual Admissions and HE Guidance conference will be returning for it's 32nd year in 2027. The date of next year's conference will be announced soon, and will once again provide expert information and guidance for professionals supporting students applying to Higher Education.

Introduction to HE: Choosing Courses and Universities
This talk looks at the reasons why students choose to go to university as well as what students can expect from student life, such as student finance, accommodation, and clubs and societies. It will also give students information about how to go about choosing a course and university to suit them.
UCAS and Personal Statements
This talk is designed to help students as they begin their application to university. This presentation will go through key information and dates for UCAS applications. It will also cover what admissions tutors are looking for in a personal statement, giving hints and tips to create a successful application.
Student Finance
The Financing University talk is an in-depth look at the Student Finance system. Designed to dispel myths about how student loans work in practice and give students an opportunity to start thinking about living on a budget.
Graduate Employability
This talk focuses on the skills and experience needed by graduates to help them get the career they want after university. It will look at how students can start building up those skills now and how a placement year at university can help boost their employability.
Wellbeing at university
What support is available at the university? Where do students go if they need help and advice? This workshop looks at all the support available to students when they attend university. It’s full of helpful hints and tips so students feel comfortable and confident before starting this new chapter.
Life as a University Student
The Life as a University Student talk aims to give top tips and guidance to students who are looking to go to university. Delivered by our student ambassadors, this talk will give your students more of an insight into what going to university is really like.
Introduction to Aston University
A talk to let students learn more about Aston University as a whole. It will cover key aspects of the university to include courses, facilities, accommodations, scholarships, contextual offer, and student support services.
Study Skills and Transition to University
This session is designed to help students develop study approaches that suit them. It will go through the differences between school/college and university, and offer practical tips for students to prepare for going to university.
