| Government and Regulatory Reports |
The Office for Students (OfS) is a non-departmental public body of the Department for Education, acting as the independent regulator and competition authority for the higher education sector in England. Reports made are available from the Office for Students website. These include: 2024-25 OfS Regulated Fees Summary (PDF) Transparency Data – Information published in relation to Condition F1 of the Office for Students regulatory framework. This page shows the number of students who attained a particular degree or other academic award, or a particular level of such an award, on completion of their course. It also shows these numbers by reference to gender, ethnicity, and socio-economic background. Reports are made to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). This information is published on the HESA website. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) is an independent body. It works closely with other organisations that have an interest in the reputation of UK higher education, including the Higher Education Academy, Universities UK and GuildHE. It checks how UK universities and colleges maintain the standard of their higher education provision. It reports on how they meet their responsibilities, identifies good practice and makes recommendations for improvement. The QAA institutional reports for the University of Birmingham can be found on their website. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the peer review system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education. We publish full REF results. |
