Student loans

If you're starting a masters course on or after 1 August 2026, you can apply for a postgraduate loan of up to £13,206 to help with course fees and living costs.

Loan eligibility
  • Available to full-time and part-time students studying at masters level only
  • Students must be UK or EU students with settled status under 60 years of age. EU students with pre-settled status may also qualify – please contact the Advice Team for further information)
  • Students holding an existing masters degree or higher qualification are excluded
  • The loan is non-means tested (it won't depend on personal or family income)
  • Repayments are linked to income after completing the course (6% of income over £21,000), and are paid concurrently with undergraduate loan payments. Interest rate of RPI plus three percent, similar to the current undergraduate system

Applications will be received by Student Finance England, with loans issued and administered by the Student Loans Company, as with undergraduate degrees.

Aston University Alumni Scholarship - 20% Master's fee discount for Aston graduates

All Aston University graduates (including Aston University London and Aston Online graduates) will receive an automatically applied 20% tuition fee discount on Aston University Master's programmes.

This applies to all Aston University standard on-campus taught masters programmes and online programmes. It also applies to the Full-time, Executive part-time and Online MBA programmes.

The University will automatically assess your eligibility at enrolment.

The Ernest Edward Scholarship for Asylum Seekers

Aston University is delighted to offer up to four sanctuary scholarships for students who are seeking refuge in the UK. These scholarships will benefit asylum seekers or those who have been granted a form of limited permission to stay in the UK, following an unsuccessful asylum application, and who are therefore prevented from accessing student finance.
