A leading fraud expert from Aston University has been appointed chair and founding lead of a new anti-fraud Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) working group dedicated to strengthening anti-fraud literacy and ethical governance in management education worldwide.
Dr Rasha Kassem, senior academic and lead of Aston University Fraud Research Group, is leading the new PRME working group on anti-fraud in management education. It is a United Nations initiative.
The new working group will bring together international academics and practitioners to exchange best practices and insights on strengthening anti-fraud education and advancing integrity in management and governance. To achieve this, the group will develop shared educational frameworks, foster interdisciplinary research collaboration, and facilitate structured dialogue between academia and practice.
Dr Kassem will be responsible for convening a global network of academics and professionals, defining the group’s priorities, and guiding its contributions to advancing anti-fraud education and ethical governance within the PRME framework.
She says the role may also create opportunities for international collaboration, research, and thought leadership aligned with the University’s strategic objectives.
Dr Kassem said: “This working group provides an important platform to strengthen how integrity and anti-fraud perspectives are embedded within management education globally. Fraud is not simply a compliance issue – it reflects deeper questions about leadership, incentives, governance and organisational culture.
“By bringing together international scholars and practitioners, we can advance research, enrich teaching and contribute to more transparent, accountable and resilient institutions. I am delighted that Aston University will play a leading role in this global initiative under the PRME framework.”
